Summary
Appointed as development monitoring surveyor for the forward funding of this private hospital development, our role was to appraise the developer’s costs, programme, site layout, designs and specifications and monitor the project during construction.
An important aspect of the role was the approval of draw downs requested by the developer under the development agreement.
Result
This development is part of a series of proposed hospitals following the construction of the award winning Circle Hospital at Bath. Due to our thorough overview of the development we were able to identify a number of issues for rectification by the team ahead of the build period, avoiding difficulties on site.
Our input was highly valued and consequently we have been instructed to monitor another Circle hospital new build in Birmingham for Medical Properties Trust.
